LIQUOID BROTH (VEG.)

This medium has Veg infusion, Veg special infusion and Veg peptone No.3 of vegetable sources in place of Beef heart infusion, Calf brain infusion and Proteose peptone respectively thus making the medium BSE/TSE risk free. Liquoid Broth (Veg) is the modification of Liquoid Broth used for the culture of blood specimens from suspected bacteraemia cases. Liquoid (Sodium polyanethol sulphonate) is a good anticoagulant. Moreover, it is not inhibitory and has the added advantage of annulling the natural bactericidal action of blood.
