B. MEAT EXTRACT AGAR

The majority of organisms investigated in medical bacteriology are either pathogens or commensals of the human body, and this artificial culture medium supply nutrients with pH (about 7.2) that is similar to that of the tissues and body fluids in order to obtain suitable growth. Aqueous extracts of peptone, a byproduct of protein digestion, are used to provide many of these nutrients on a daily basis.
